5th Grade to Middle School Transition

*Updated 2-19-2021

Hello 5th grade families, I want to share some important dates coming up that will help with transitioning to Charles S. Rushe Middle School next school year.  Beginning this week, Mrs. Druschel and Mrs. Boehmer, your 6th grade school counselor and administrator, will be visiting your child’s class to share an overview of course selections, middle school expectations, and graduation expectations for middle school. The goal is to give your child information and get them excited about their middle school journey.

On Thursday evening, February 25th @ 6PM: an informational Charles S. Rushe Middle School parent night for all incoming 6th grade parents with be held via zoom at Charles S. Rushe Middle School.  The evening will include a presentation from Mr. Salerno, CSRMS Principal, Ms. Boehmer, and many teachers at CSRMS. CSRMS staff will be available to share information about course options, extra-curricular activities, and promotion requirements for incoming 6th grade students.  You are encouraged to attend with your child!  The zoom link/QR code can be found on Rushe’s website. Your child will also receive a handout with this information during their classroom presentation.

Following the main presentation, at 7pm, CSRMS staff will share information related to their Soaring Ravens Academy. For information related to this program, please see the CSRMS website. If you are interested in this academy, you are encouraged to stay on the zoom call for that portion of the presentation.

Due to the current pandemic, we are unsure of whether we will be able to host a 6th Grade University, as we have done in past years. We will share information related to this as we know more; so, stayed tuned!!

Please visit Charles S. Rushe Middle School’s website often for upcoming information as your child prepares to transition to middle school.  Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the Parent Night at Rushe – Thursday night, February 25, at 6pm via zoom!
