Oakstead Elementary Center for Gifted Studies
At the Center for Gifted Studies, we empower students to pursue their passions and achieve ambitious goals through purposeful, high-quality learning. As a comprehensive, full-time gifted program, we provide a rigorous and advanced curriculum across all content areas, aligned with the Florida Gifted Frameworks.
Students receive daily gifted services from gifted-endorsed teachers who design enriched, integrated learning experiences that cultivate deep content understanding, strong research skills, and both critical and creative thinking. Meaningful collaboration with intellectual peers is central to our program, fostering innovation, perseverance, and a lasting sense of self-efficacy. Our curriculum fully aligns with current Florida Standards and Pasco County Schools requirements, ensuring both rigor and academic excellence.

Students in grades 3–5 who have been identified as gifted and are zoned for one of the following middle schools are eligible:

How Is OES Center for Gifted Studies Different?
Students receive full-day instruction exclusively with other gifted learners, taught by professional educators trained in gifted education. Instruction is designed to promote depth, complexity, and critical thinking, while working toward mastery of Florida B.E.S.T. Standards alongside Florida’s K–12 Gifted Standards.
What If My Child Needs Transportation?
Transportation may be available for students who attend their zoned Center for Gifted Studies through designated hub stops.

How Do I Enroll My Child?
Enrollment is completed through the Parent Portal using School Choice. The application window opens several times per year, typically in January, April, and June. Families must submit either a School Choice Application or a Hardship Application. If you need assistance, please email Shari Kantor at skantor@pasco.k12.fl.us
